Information Sent Directly
Search entries
A name or location typed into a search widget is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The operator of Davie County Busted Mugshots does not store or keep a log of those search terms on its own system.
Messages
Email and contact submissions may be kept so a reply can be sent. They are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data and Cookies
Each page load may create routine technical records, such as:
- IP address.
- Browser type and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- Referring page, when supplied.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookie use
Cookies help measure how visitors use the pages and can support site functions. Browser controls can block or delete cookies. Some features may act differently when cookies are disabled.
How Data Is Used
Collected information may be used to:
- Keep the pages working and responsive.
- Send search requests to the selected partner service.
- Understand which pages are useful.
- Find errors and improve technical performance.
- Display advertising that may relate to a visitor’s interests.
Outside Links
Pages link to jail rosters, booking resources, sheriff and corrections offices, courts, federal locators, local news, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves for another domain, that service’s privacy notice controls its data practices.
Advertising partners may track activity across sites for targeted ads on their own systems. That tracking is governed by the partner’s policy, not this notice.
Possible Data Recipients
Personal data is not sold by the operator. It may be received by the following parties when their services are used or when the law requires disclosure:
- Search partners that process a query.
- Analytics providers.
- Advertising networks.
- Law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Security Limits
Reasonable standard security practices are used, but no internet-connected system is fully secure. There is no promise that data will be immune from every breach, attack, or transmission error.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor submitted data, a parent or guardian may request that it be deleted.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and reasonable verification, a visitor may ask to:
- Receive a copy of data held about the requester.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion.
- Opt out of certain processing.
Changes to This Notice
This notice may be revised as practices change. A new version and effective date will be posted here. Continued use after an update means the revised notice applies.
