Find Davie County Busted Mugshots

Mocksville's sheriff roster carries more than most small-county lists: current custody, arrest dates, release dates, and a booking photo when one is available. That makes it the natural first stop for any Davie County name search. Court files pick up where the jail record ends, and the North Carolina corrections system takes over if a sentence moves a person into state custody. A records request recovers older entries no longer visible online. That official sheriff roster, backed by a records request, is the source of Davie County busted mugshots, and the court file shows how each charge turned out.

Davie County Busted Mugshots

A mugshot comes from booking at the jail. Deputies and detention staff make the matching record when someone enters custody. In Davie County, the public route runs through the Davie County Sheriff's Office portal, which runs on Zuercher software and links from the sheriff's own site. Anyone arrested by a deputy, under a town service arrangement, or on a warrant can be booked at the Davie County Detention Center in Mocksville. The facility holds adults, medium security, pretrial. "Busted" is plain talk for an arrest. Still, read the roster with care. A current entry does not settle the case. A missing entry does not prove no arrest happened. For the full picture, turn to three places: the official custody result for a live snapshot, the court record for the legal outcome, and the records custodian for a report or photo the portal does not show.

Davie Busted Booking Records

Two tools, two questions. The roster gives a live custody view. A fuller booking record from a records request may carry more detail, minus anything lawfully redacted or withheld. The field names described below come from the county's official Zuercher setup and its documented request path.

FieldWhat it can show
NameThe name entered in the custody system. Spelling should be checked against the court file.
Booking numberAn intake identifier when supplied in the record response or detail view.
Arrest dateThe date tied to the booking entry. It may be older than the day a person is seen in custody.
Charges as bookedThe charges recorded at intake.
Bond or hold reasonCustody information that may include bond-related details or another hold.
Mugshot statusA photo when available, or an unavailable state in the public display.
Release dateA release field when entered. It is not a judgment on the case.
Court date or facilityScheduling or holding information when included by the source.

Never fill a blank field from an aggregator. The portal can hide juveniles. Sealed, expunged, protected, or restricted material may not appear there at all. A third-party card that adds a charge, a date, or an image is not a correction to the official record.

Request Davie Busted Records

Davie County handles busted-record requests through its Public Records Request page. The policy took effect November 4, 2019. When you write, name the Davie County Sheriff’s Office and, if you know it, the Davie County Detention Center, and describe the booking sheet or photo you want. One limit matters here: the county must hand over records that exist. It does not have to build a new database or craft a custom search for you.

Looking costs nothing. Copies are where fees start, and the policy spells them out: $0.05 for a black-and-white letter page, $0.06 for legal size, and $0.10 for 11-by-17, with higher rates listed for color. The FY 2025–2026 schedule names no special charge for booking photos. If a request demands heavy clerical, supervisory, or IT work, a special service charge can be added. Ask up front whether an existing digital image is available and what it might cost.

  1. Name the record type, such as a booking photograph, booking sheet, arrest report, release record, or incident report.
  2. Give a date range, known name, booking number, case number, and desired existing format.
  3. Submit through the county request route or ask the sheriff’s records contact where the request should be directed.
  4. Expect the custodian to report availability, estimate more time, state that no record exists, or explain a denial. The policy describes an internal two-business-day response to the County Attorney, not a guaranteed production date.
  5. If something is withheld, ask for the applicable exemption or redaction explanation and for the retention schedule if the record is no longer held.

Records contact. Davie County Sheriff's Office, 132 Government Center Drive, Mocksville, NC 27028, main line 336-751-6238. The contacts page lists Records Supervisor Alesia Boles at 336-936-2947. The Davie County Detention Center sits at 135 Green Street, Mocksville, NC 27028, and can be reached at 336-753-6647.

For an arrest report, the sheriff's Civil Division sends requesters to the Clerk of Court at 140 South Main Street in Mocksville. Keep in mind that an incident report is a different animal from a booking photo. Name the exact record you want. That way the request lands with the right custodian.

North Carolina Mugshot Law

G.S. 15A-502 governs law-enforcement photographs and fingerprints tied to an arrest or commitment, with special limits for juveniles. It does not force every North Carolina sheriff to post every booking photo online. The broader public-records framework lives in Chapter 132, including its law-enforcement provisions and exceptions. Access to an existing record is one thing. A duty to republish it forever is another.

Then there is G.S. 15A-152, which sets deletion duties for a narrow class of paid private entities that compile or spread criminal-history information under specific conditions. It is not a universal removal command for every copied page. HB 778, introduced in 2023, would have added booking-photo language. It stayed a proposal rather than law.

For a closed case, expunction is the remedy most people need. The North Carolina Courts expunction page lays out how eligible records can be removed, sealed, or destroyed under the applicable statute. Waiting periods and eligibility rules vary. A $175 general filing fee is listed. Many dismissed or not-guilty matters are treated differently. Courts warn the process can drag on for months, and an order does not automatically erase private copies.

Once you have proof of a qualifying result, go to a third-party page through its own free correction process. Busted Newspaper offers a form with a stated 5-10-day review window. RecentlyBooked charges no fee. It wants the URL, date, reason, and proof. Mugshots.zone describes a similar no-fee form with the same 5-10-day review. Mugshots.com calls its maintenance process free, up to ten business days. Those are stated policies, not promises, so be wary of anyone demanding money to make a legal record vanish.

Google's Refresh outdated content tool handles a search result whose source page has changed or disappeared. It does not delete the source. The safer order: get proof, fix the source, confirm the live page changed, then ask about the stale result.

How to Find Davie Arrest Records

People use the phrase "recent arrest" loosely. It can point to a booking that just happened, a person still held at the jail, or a fresh news item about an older case. Each one sits in a different place. The official roster comes first: note the date it displays, and only chase the custody trail as far as that source actually supports.

  1. Open the official Davie County Sheriff’s Office inmate route and inspect current-custody results.
  2. Use the name, custody, arrest-date, or release-date filters. Compare the arrest date with today.
  3. Read the detail or hold-reason area for available charges and bond information. A mugshot may be present or marked unavailable.
  4. If the person has left county custody, check the North Carolina eCourts Portal for case events and disposition.
  5. If a sentence moved the person to state custody, use the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction search. If no online source answers the question, make a targeted records request.

Need an answer fast? Call the detention center at 336-753-6647 or the sheriff's main office at 336-751-6238. The sheriff's homepage also posts a current non-emergency line, 336-751-0896. An older contacts page gives 336-751-6238 again for related direction. Numbers shift over time. Confirm the right one before it matters.

Where Davie Busted Mugshots Appear

Start with the official sources. Each one answers a different custody question. The table below sorts things out. It keeps current county custody apart from state prison, court outcomes, news coverage, and the unofficial copies found elsewhere.

Several third-party sites keep local sections: Busted Newspaper Davie County, RecentlyBooked Davie County, Mugshots.zone, Arrests.org Davie, and Mugshots.com Davie County. These can turn up a dated copy of a booking photo. The official roster and the court file still carry more weight than any of them.

A secondary directory, DavieRecords.us, also describes county arrest records. It has no tie to DCSO, the county, the courts, or NCDAC. Treat anything found there as a lead, nothing more.

Note: A photo shown by a third party can outlast the official roster, so check its date and source before treating it as current.

Davie County Jail Roster Search

Zuercher is the county's official public custody search. A row usually carries a booking photo, the name, race, sex, and date of birth or age. It also shows the arrest date, release date, custody controls, details, and any hold reasons. By default it lists who is in custody right now. The public table caps at 50 rows per page. A name search or date filter is often the faster route to one specific person.

Search fieldUse
NameLimit the current result to a known name.
Race or sexAvailable demographic filters. They do not prove identity alone.
Custody statusKeep current custody distinct from a released record.
Arrest dateTest a same-day or date-range question.
Release dateFind a release field when the system has one.
  1. Open the official inmate route and note the access date.
  2. Start with the default current-custody view, then choose a date or name filter.
  3. Open the detail or hold-reason view and read the arrest date, release field, bond information, and photo status together.
  4. For a final outcome, leave the roster and search the court record. For state custody, use NCDAC.

The sheriff posts on no fixed schedule. There is no same-day guarantee, no outage policy, and no stated retention period. The live portal is not an archive. A missing photo can mean a restriction, no image on file, a removal, or a temporarily incomplete result. The sheriff's app handles alerts, tips, and scam notices, but it offers no full booking-photo feed.

Four terms matter here. Just-booked means intake and public display may still be catching up. In custody means the person appears on the current roster. Released means the row can vanish even though the booking record still exists. A move into state custody shifts the search to the DAC locator.

Does an older arrest date mean a new arrest? No. Someone booked weeks ago can still be sitting in the jail. Read the arrest and release fields themselves. Ignore when you happened to open the roster.

The official Davie inmate route opens the county's live custody search, date controls and all.

A screenshot only shows the interface. It is not a list of real people. Any live search can look different from the moment the image was taken.

Recent Davie Busted Bookings

There is no official same-day feed. No RSS, no CSV, no email digest, no dated photo dump. The Zuercher roster can be filtered by arrest date, but that is a live query, not a guaranteed 24-hour log. Intake, data entry, photo capture, and publication each run on their own clock. For a weekend or holiday question, run a direct date check. Call the detention center if it is urgent.

No multi-day archive of booking photos exists in official form either. The DCSO News & Events archive picks and chooses what to cover. It may mention an arrest, a bond, or a court date without listing everyone booked. Facebook and the sheriff app are alert channels, not a daily booking log anyone can rely on.

Feed caution. A same-day roster search can miss a booking that has not reached public display, while an older row can linger because the person is still being held.

Need a question that spans several days? Ask the county custodian for an existing date range. Name the start and end dates. Say which record class you want. Be clear about the format too: a photo, booking sheet, release record, or arrest report. The response may be the record itself, a lawful redaction, or word that nothing matching is held.

Note: News stories select cases for public attention; the live roster is broader but still limited to the fields and custody state the portal publishes.

NCDAC Offender Photo Search

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction criminal offender search tracks current state prisoners, probationers, parolees, and historical records reaching back to 1972. You can search by name or offender ID. Its documentation lists identifiers such as a seven-digit offender number, a docket number, a jail transportation number starting with T, a state identification number, and a driver's-license number. Keep sensitive identifiers out of anything you publish.

NCDAC answers a different question than the Davie roster does. It finds someone in state corrections or supervision after a sentence or transfer. It holds no county-jail information, and a state result says nothing about how a fresh county booking turned out. A profile may include a photo when one exists, but not every result carries an image.

The DAC public-records page lists 919-733-2126 for questions. It also explains that conviction, sentence, admission, release, and time-served details are public while other offender records stay confidential. Before tying a state result to a Davie arrest, match the name, date, and case details.

When a county booking has moved into prison or supervision, the official NCDAC offender search is the right route.

Don't confuse the state system with a county jail roster. The two lists do not match. Someone released from Davie custody may never show up in state records at all. The reverse happens too. A person sitting in state custody can drop off the county's live list because the county no longer holds them. Check both systems if a name seems to be missing from one.

Davie Busted Records: Booked or Released?

Custody status drives the record. A person can sit in one system today and another tomorrow, and the systems rarely sync on the same clock.

Federal or immigration custodyBOP, ICE, or USMS channelsSeparate systems with separate limits and no public USMS photo release.

Federal searches live on their own separate track. The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator reaches back to 1982 for federal inmates, though it is not a source for county booking photos. The ICE detainee locator stands apart as well, and it cannot search for anyone under 18. The U.S. Marshals Service has said no to releasing personal histories or photographs of federal prisoners. If a county record shows a federal hold, that is a custody field only.

After a Davie Booking

A booking opens the court trail, and the trail has its own vocabulary. An arraignment or first appearance is the hearing where the case and release conditions advance. Bond is a financial or release condition attached to the case. Disposition is the final court result, such as dismissal, reduction, plea, acquittal, or conviction, when the public record supplies it.

Two state tools carry the local docket forward. The Davie County Judicial Branch page gives clerk information. The eCourts Portal handles public case searches, dates, judgments, and documents where available. A very fresh booking may not be indexed yet. Juvenile, sealed, and restricted matters may stay out of public view. Before tying a court file to a jail row, compare the spelling, case number, court date, and charge wording.

A booking photo and its charge list mark a starting point, nothing more. Charges often change or get dismissed later. Only the appropriate court record shows the final disposition.

Booking
The intake process that records a person in a detention system.
Bond
A court-ordered release condition, which may include money or other terms.
Disposition
The court’s recorded outcome of a case or charge.
Expunction
A legal process that can remove, seal, or destroy eligible state records under the applicable statute.

Davie Busted Mugshots by City

City labels here describe where an event may have occurred, not a separate municipal booking database. Each town's story differs. Mocksville handed its police function to the sheriff on July 1, 2021. Cooleemee's department was disbanded in December 2022, and county deputies took over. Bermuda Run contracts with the sheriff for coverage. In all three places, county booking questions go to DCSO and the Davie County Detention Center.

Local coverage and selected arrest reports appear at Mugshots in the News. To run a safe warrant check or view a wanted listing, turn to Sheriff’s Most Wanted and follow its official-contact steps.

Alerts and Older Davie Records

NC SAVAN handles custody alerts. Some state materials call it VINElink. The service is free and anonymous, and it works for status changes rather than booking photos. The NC SAVAN program page lays out the notification route and lists 1-877-627-2826. A safety alert can beat a reposted image every time.

DCSO has published no retention period for booking photos. There is no fixed archive after release, either. For older material, ask the records custodian which schedule applies. Two archives add courthouse and jail context: the North Carolina Archives county records lists and the Davie County historical collection. Neither one is a current booking-photo series.

The Davie County archival collection helps place local jail records in historical context.

Dispatch audio belongs to a different record class entirely. Under G.S. 132-1.4(1), the county 911 page sets a maximum retention of 30 days for audio and radio communications. A booking request will not pull dispatch audio with it. Name each record type when you ask.
